(June 1, 2021) The Hornbrook Fire Protection District has a new volunteer who is in need of properly filling PPE. The gear they have does not fit properly so they will receive a grant of $5,000. “My crew’s safety is paramount to me,” said Chief Tim Thurner, “and this grant will go a long way to keeping my new member safe with proper updated PPE.” It’s a privilege to help this and any volunteer who chooses to serve the community.
(Sept. 22, 2021) With some careful shopping, the Hornbrook department was able to purchase structure gear, wildland gear and swift water rescue gear for their new firefighter with the grant money. The pants and radio harness Ed is wearing in the photo were also purchased.
